Friskis&Svettis Workout


We call our workout 'jympa'. The concept is based on music, the joy of motion and positive leadership. It is fun and effective, and has been developed in co-operation with experts in the fields of medicine and physiology on the basis of scientific research.

A class of Friskis&Svettis workout integrates all the essential elements of physical training, i.e. warm-up, flexibility, strength, stamina, cool-down and relaxation.

Friskis&Svettis Aberdeen offers six types of workout at the moment: Special Senior, Senior and Senior Dans,Soft, Basic, and Medium. The table below explains what you can expect in each.

Session Description

Special Senior
A specially adapted programme designed for seniors. Participants do strength exercises sitting on chairs.

Senior
For fit and healthy seniors. Music and exercise at a slower pace.

Dans Senior
Disco, Jazz, Rock, Swing - there’s no age limit for Dancing! Nothing complicated, just simple, inspiring moves. Imitate and have fun! Lots of feeling and attitude, no right and wrong. Let loose and move where the music takes you! Just like on the dance floor!

Soft
Exercises with a slower speed and intensity than basic, suitable for those who need to take extra care with joints or muscles

Basic
Suitable for people who want to start building up or to maintain fitness. Sweaty workout with jogging, bouncing and strength exercises.

Medium
Suitable for fit people who are used to exercise. Even sweatier workout which includes running, jumping and harder moves.
